Luxembourg is set to invest 1.7 billion euros in research and higher education, up almost 20% over the previous period.


Highlights for research from the funding include The University of Luxembourg developing new and strengthened activities in the field of high-performance computing, data science and quantum computing; The Luxembourg Institute of Science and Technology (LIST) turning its data analysis platform into a platform for artificial intelligence, data analysis and IT visualization by integrating developments in new technologies.


The Luxembourg Institute of Health will place the patient at the center of its activities. The research institute will be fully in line with the current paradigm shift in biomedical research, which is driven by the widespread adoption of disruptive technologies such as big data, artificial intelligence and machine learning. and machine learning.


The University of Luxembourg will also create a new interdisciplinary center focusing on environmental systems, with a focus on hydrogen, among others, and an objective of "sustainable by design".
